Millions of Americans take antidepressants. And like all medication they come with side effects. Researchers studied 30 different antidepressants and found side effects vary from drug to drug.

Doctors are criticizing a recent expert panel organized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration that questioned the safety of taking antidepressants during pregnancy.

A panel organized by the FDA cast doubts on the safety of antidepressants during pregnancy — drawing ire from doctors who say SSRIs are a crucial treatment option for women with perinatal depression.

Phillipa Munari suffered nerve pain and exhaustion after she stopped taking antidepressants. She struggled to train her horse, Bella, and “could barely walk because of the withdrawal,” said Munari. “I spent 20 hours in bed most days for two years.”
