With less than three weeks until the end of voting, the presidential race between Kamala Harris and Donald Trump is racing toward a dramatic conclusion.

The outcome – along with how the election affects control of the U.S. Senate and the U.S. House of Representatives – will have far-reaching effects for years to come.

Back in Rhode Island, the Washington Bridge continues to dominate public attention, along with questions about the economy, the struggle to improve public education and other needs.

These are some of the issues considered during The Public’s Voice, a discussion recorded before a live audience at The Providence Athenaeum on Oct. 10. Ian Donnis, political reporter for The Public’s Radio, moderated the conversation, with a panel consisting of Rhode Island House GOP Leader Michael Chippendale (R-Foster), state Rep. David Morales (D-Providence), and Wendy Schiller, professor of political science at Brown University.
