A note from Wild Card host Rachel Martin: Lots of people have tried to tell Amy Grant who to be over the course of her music career. Sometimes the criticism comes from people who think she’s singing about God too much, and sometimes it’s from people who say she’s not singing about God enough.
I’ve followed Amy Grant’s career since I was a kid, singing her songs in church. And to me, she has always seemed like someone who knows exactly who she is and how she wants to live her life.
She releases her first new album of original songs in more than a decade on May 8. It’s called “The Me That Remains.”
