We’ve been following Bonnie (a liberal) and Dave (a conservative), two friends & neighbors who want to talk about politics with each other, but are worried it will damage their friendship. They spent a week on a “balanced media diet” – reading, watching, and listening to media sources from across the political spectrum. Did they personally gain or learn anything from the balanced media diet? Can they talk about politics with each other now?
This podcast is produced by the Rhode Island Council for the Humanities and The Public’s Radio as part of the “Democracy and the Informed Citizen” initiative. Administered by the Federation of State Humanities Councils, the initiative seeks to deepen the public’s knowledge and appreciation of the vital connections between democracy, the humanities and journalism. Thanks to the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation for their generous support of this initiative and the Pulitzer Prizes for their partnership.
