Vineyard Wind will build 84 wind turbines 14 miles off the coast of Martha’s Vineyard. That’s only a fraction of the developer’s leasing area which sprawls over 150,000 acres.
New England commercial fisherman have been concerned that current and future development of offshore wind farms will adversely impact the fisheries they rely on.
As Vineyard Wind sets to begin construction this fall, Massachusetts is calling on other wind developers to submit proposals for additional offshore wind projects in the region.
