Linda Savastano, the former superintendent who resigned amid separate controversies over a political mailer and the school district’s handling of high volume public records requests, is taking legal action against the South Kingstown Town Council and School Committee.

Attorney General’s office investigating resource officer’s use of force at South Kingstown High School
A spokesperson for the Rhode Island Attorney General says the office’s civil rights unit is reviewing a use of force incident last month involving a school resource officer and student at South Kingstown High School. The incident has shaken students, parents and community members, and led to an online email campaign to the school committee that’s drawn over 1,700 letters.
