Officials with the PawSox toured a site in Worcester and met city officials there last Friday.
The PawSox previously indicated they would consider other locations if Rhode Island did not approve a new stadium plan by July first.
If the PawSox were to leave Rhode Island, Worcester, Springfield and Montreal are considered the three most likely destinations.
Rhode Island lawmakers may hold fall hearings on the PawSox’ proposed new stadium in Pawtucket. But the impasse over the state budget has clouded the outlook for now.
