Rhode Island is seeing a break in snow from the early hours of the morning, but meteorologist with the National Weather Service Frank Nocera says the snow is already making its way back north.
“Snow is coming back into the area, coming back to coastal Rhode Island,” Said Nocera. “It’s snowing right now in Westerly and the remainder of the south coast there, to Point Judith. And that will be moving north as the morning goes on.”
Nocera says heavy snow will start falling around 9 a.m. Forecasts predict snowfall of 2 to 4 inches per hour between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.

Meteorologist with the National Weather Service Stephanie Dunton said visibilities have dropped across the state of Rhode Island- below a quarter-mile in the south coast, and a half-mile in the northern part of the state.
“We expect these to low visibilities to continue over the next few hours when the snow begins to increase,” said Dunton.
