The Public's Radio is proud to present two candidate forums this October, ahead of the general election in November! Join us live and reserve your free tickets!
Along with our partners, the Providence Journal and Rhode Island College, we invite you to join us at the 2022 Rhode Island Gubernatorial Candidate Forum on Thursday, October 13th, at 6:30 pm.
And for our listeners in Congressional District 2, please join us at the Second Congressional District Forum on Monday, October 17th at 6:30 pm, presented with the Providence Journal and the University of Rhode Island.
These are community forums, rather than debates, and are structured as conversations around the issues Rhode Islanders care about the most.
2022 Rhode Island Second Congressional District Forum

Edwards Hall, University of Rhode Island
64 Upper College Road, Kingston, RI 02881

All three candidates on the ballot have been invited to participate in a forum for Rhode Island’s second congressional district seat, being vacated by Congressman James Langevin. The race, which promises to be hotly contested, was moved from “Leans D” to “Toss Up” by the Cook Political Report in late June.
Candidates will answer questions from moderator Ian Donnis, political reporter for The Public’s Radio; Patrick Anderson, political reporter for the Providence Journal; and Juliana Lepore, news editor for The Good Five Cent Cigar, URI’s student newspaper.
The forum will be presented to a live audience from 6:30 - 7:30 pm at the University of Rhode Island. Forum is free and open to the public, but space is limited and advance ticket reservation is required. The forum will be broadcast on The Public’s Radio as well as live-streamed online at providencejournal.com.
