With the launch of our new segment, The Bubbler, we’ve put the power in your hands to shape our journalism. We asked you to submit your questions about our region, a few of which would be selected for you to vote on and decide which question our reporters should investigate.

Our first voting round has now come to an end. Here is the winning question:

·     A pedestrian lane was built on the Jamestown-Verrazano bridge, but it’s blocked and inaccessible. Why was it never opened?

Our environmental reporter Avory Brookins is now working to deliver an answer to this question, with a little help from asker Peter Quesnel.

Thanks to all who submitted a question, and congratulations to our winner! Our next voting round will be opening soon, giving you another chance to have your questions about our region answered. If you haven’t already, let us know what topics you’re curious about.
