Starting Monday, you’ll be able to place bets on sports at Twin River’s new casino in Tiverton. The company rolled out Rhode Island’s first legal sports betting in Lincoln just one week ago.

Local politicians and a crowd of gamblers lined up to place the very first bets when sports betting became an above-board operation in Rhode Island last week.

Next, Twin River will add sports betting at its other casino in Tiverton. The facility opened over the summer just yards from the Fall River border. The location is partly aimed at drawing customers from Massachusetts, who may also be attracted by the addition of sports betting.

Rhode Island is the only New England State to legalize gambling on sporting events, and revenue is expected to exceed 11-million dollars this fiscal year. Rhode Island currently relies on gambling for about a third of state revenue.
