Artist Nicole Eisenman, who received a BFA in painting from RISD in 1987 is part of the new class of MacArthur Grant recipients.
Eisenman works in a variety of media including painting, sculpture and printmaking.
Brown graduate Ben Lerner also received the grant this year. Lerner, a novelist, poet and cultural critic, received both a BA and MFA from Brown. He now teaches in the English department at Brooklyn College of the City College of New York.
