The Rhode Island Department of Health will continue to review a complaint against a psychologist who worked at St. George’s School in Middletown.

Psychologist Peter Kosseff is accused of negligence for failing to report allegations of sexual abuse at the elite boarding school in the late 1970s and ’80s.

Kosseff said his patients never reported the abuse to him, and he’s been trying to get the complaint dismissed. After a hearing over the summer, the hearing officer said she wants more information about the two St. George’s faculty members accused of sexual abuse.

If the case moves forward, the Department of Health could revoke Kosseff’s psychology license. Kosseff worked part-time at St. George’s at a time when some former alumni say abuse was covered up by administrators.
