The Ocean State had a week of unseasonably warm weather. T.F. Green Airport reported a record high of 65 degrees Thursday, beating the 1990 record of 60 degrees.
Meteorologist with the National Weather Service, Alan Dunham, said the high pressure offshore pumped warmer air from the southeastern United States. To those hoping this means the end of cold weather, Dunham has some news.
“To say, ‘Oh, winter’s over!’ No, you can’t do that,” said Dunham. “It’s real easy to get snow in March in Rhode Island.”
So how long will this weather last? Dunham said the Ocean State will remain warm Friday and Saturday, but a cold front will inch in Sunday.
“The skies will be sunny and still not bad with highs in the lower- forties,” said Dunham.
