The state Board of Elections is slated to consider recount requests Friday by three candidates who lost close legislative races last week.
State Rep. Justin Price (R-Richmond), is among those seeking a recount.
Unofficial results show that progressive Democrat Megan Cotter beat Price by 29 votes, in a three-way race. This race attracted attention because of how Price had attended the January sixth rally in Washington, DC, and mistakenly blamed Antifa for causing the attack on the Capitol.
In Warwick, Republican state rep candidate Marie Hopkins wants a recount after she lost to Rep. Camille Vella-Wilkinson (D-Warwick) by 37 votes.
And state Rep. Bernard Hawkins (D-Smithfield) is seeking a recount after Republican Brian Rea beat him by 59 votes.
Recounts are also being sought in a few municipal races.
If the Board of Elections agrees to the recount requests, the results should be in some time Friday.
