The Providence Public School District superintendent is not a target in the investigation of failure to report sexual abuse allegations at a city elementary school.
As WPRI first reported, Providence Police have already charged one school administrator for such failure.
City police confirmed Monday that Christopher Maher is not under investigation.
Harry Kizirian Elementary School Principal Violet LeMar was charged with a misdemeanor last week, for not notifying the Department of Children, Youth and Families after allegations of abuse came to light.
Instead, prosecutors say, LeMar reached out to members of the school administration and conducted her own investigation into the allegations.
It was not until a parent at the school notified law enforcement that police became involved.
