Dear Listeners,
We’re happy to announce some broadcast schedule changes that go into effect Monday, February 6th. You’ll find all your favorite syndicated programs, plus a few more that may surprise and delight you.
Monday through Friday, we are restoring the 3 PM BBC Newshour that so many of you have missed. That means that BBC Newshour will now be heard at both 10 AM and 3 PM with each of those broadcasts coming live from London. While the noon OS program from BBC will be taking a hiatus, we will be introducing our first-ever acquired program from The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation at noon, Monday through Friday. It’s not OS, but a different alphabetical letter—Q. Q is CBC’s delightful cultural and arts program hosted by Tom Power, covering music, arts, media, and theater both in Canada and the states.
Science Friday, live from New York, moves earlier weekdays as a complement to our Monday through Friday broadcast of Think, live from Dallas at 2PM. That pairing is repeated in the evenings as part of an enhanced set of programs offered between 8 pm and midnight, composed of On Point, Fresh Air, The Takeaway, and Think/Science Friday.
There are new offerings on the weekends as well, such as The New Yorker Radio Hour, Elvis Mitchell’s The Treatment and Left, Right and Center on Saturdays, and On Shifting Ground with Ray Suarez on Sundays.
There’s much to discover and enjoy on The Public’s Radio.
Please let us know what you think. A complete schedule is available here.
With thanks,
Torey Malatia and Sally Eisele
