Behind the scenes negotiations on the I-195 District, and the inside word from state Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor.

Pryor said agreeing on incentives is the main obstacle to a major development planned for the I-195 District. Baltimore-based Wexford Science and Technology signed an initial agreement in January for a life-science park in the district.

Commerce Secretary Stefan Pryor said a lack of visible progress since then can be explained.

“We need to reach financial terms, we need to reach terms on the economic incentives that we’re going to invest in the project and we’re very far along on that negotiation,” said Pryor.

Pryor declined to say when he expects the state to reach an agreement on incentives with Wexford.
