The Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles is reminding residents that some of its locations will be closed as the rollout of the system begins this week.
Residents will need reservations to conduct DMV transactions beginning Wednesday through July 17.
In efforts to curb customer disruptions, the DMV announced last week that there will be a grace period for any motor-vehicle credentials that expire throughout the month of July. Residents will have until September 30 to renew their licenses.
Officials also tell Rhode Islanders that they shouldn’t have any trouble traveling domestically if they carry their expired DMV-issued credentials and a second form of identification.
