The New England Patriots begin defending their latest Super Bowl title in Foxborough as they host the Kansas City Chiefs at Gillette Stadium.
Tight end Rob Gronkowski said the team is ready and looking forward to a new season.
“I’m super excited. We’ve been practicing since July 25th,” Gronkowski said. “So just super excited now to get to the game, super excited to play. It’s been a while, just can’t wait to get out there.”
Gronkowski said he has completely recovered from a back injury that forced him to miss the end of last season and the playoffs.
Before the game, the team is expected to reveal its fifth Super Bowl banner.
