The precarious state of American health care is the subject of a new book by Dr. Michael Fine former director of the Rhode Island Department of Health, titled Health Care Revolt: How to Organize, Build a Health Care System, and Resuscitate Democracy—All at the Same Time. He recently talked with The Public’s Radio political analyst Scott MacKay about the new neighborhood health station in Central Falls, rising expenses under the affordable care act and what’s behind the recent push for single-payer health care.
