Green Party Candidate Jill Stein is making the rounds at colleges in southern New England this week.
On Friday, students at Rhode Island College will get to hear Jill Stein speak about her presidential platform, including her plan to eliminate student debt. She spoke to students at Wheaton College in Massachusetts on Sunday and is scheduled to speak to students at Central Connecticut State University on Thursday.
Stein believes she could sweep the election if millennials buried in student loans vote for her in November. This is the first election where millennials will make up the same share of the voting electorate as baby boomers.
Presidential candidates are vying for young voters, who were among Bernie Sanders’ key supporters in primary elections. But historically, young voter turnout is the lowest of any group.
