Activists and protester have been marching since Saturday in opposition to the power plant and in anticipation of meeting with governor.
Opponents of the proposed power plant have organized many protests, marches, and sit-ins for nearly a year since the public announcement of the project. They’re worried about the project’s impact to the environment, public health and property values.
Gov. Gina Raimondo agreed to listen to these concerns. Hundreds are expected to attend tonight’s meeting, scheduled to take place at Burrillville High School at 6pm. Organizers of the meeting hope the governor will withdraw her support for the project.
