The Cranston City Council has scheduled a special meeting tonight. The meeting will center on questions the council has for Mayor Allan Fung, regarding a scathing report by the State Police.

The report alleges the Cranston police department was grossly mismanaged. In the notice calling for the meeting, the council requests the presence of Mayor Fung.

The council meeting is expected to provide an opportunity for Fung to answer questions about the report from council members, as well as Cranston Residents.

The report accused Fung’s administration of political interference with the police… as well as favoritism and intimidation within the department. Fung requested the State Police review after a parking ticket scandal in 2013.

The meeting is scheduled for 7 p.m. in the City Council chambers.
