Winter may not officially be here just yet, but snow flakes flew briefly on Wednesday morning, and the first real snowfall of the season is on its way.
According to the National Weather Service, commuters can expect snow on their Thursday evening drive.

The forecast calls for anywhere from half an inch to two inches of snow to fall between then and Friday.
Meteorologist Lenore Correia said winds will be mild.
“It will bring some wind, but nothing that significant,” Correia said. “Mostly, the southern coast of Rhode Island will see the highest winds. So, gusts maybe to 35 mph early Friday morning.”
Correia said most of the snowfall will occur between 2 p.m. and midnight Thursday, likely affecting your commute home.
But, she said it shouldn’t linger into morning drive the next day.
