Do you support trucking tolls for tractor trailers on Rhode Island highways?

Given the severity of our deficient bridges and the need for immediate repair & replacement, I do support this measure provided that these tolls are not extended to non-commercial or passenger vehicles. In addition, we should re-examine alternative options to generate revenue that could sustain funding in the future for the RhodeWorks program.

Would you support a state-mandated health insurance program?

I would support a state-mandated health insurance program, especially in those areas covering consumer protections such as women’s health, behavioral health, mental health, and substance abuse.

Are you in favor of expanding protections against sexual harassment to include domestic workers (such as nannies) and volunteers (such as interns)?

Yes, all workers should enjoy the safety of the same protections.

If given the opportunity, would you codify the right to have an abortion in state law?

Yes, as I fully support a woman’s right to choose and have access to reproductive health care.

Is the state doing enough to help people who have been left behind by the economy? If not, what additional steps should be taken?

Rhode Island must stand behind its residents who are less fortunate and through no fault of their own are economically disadvantaged. We need to ensure that all residents have equal access to statewide economic opportunities and advancement.

Does primary education need to be improved statewide? If so, how?

We should always look to improve the quality of education in our state, especially in the areas of improving literacy.

Do you support RI’s designation as a sanctuary state? Why or why not?

I support the 2014 Executive Order, still in effect, in which our state’s Executive Branch will not detain individuals subject to an ICE Detainer unless ICE obtains a Federal judicial order of deportation/removal for those persons. In addition, we should explore options on developing a state-level path to obtaining citizenship.
