In any election year, the media are saturated with stories of the candidates, the battles, the polls, the wins and the losses. But behind the scenes, in every newsroom I’ve ever worked in, the editorial conversation also turns to “how can we make our coverage about more than the horse races?”

We think the answer lies with you. What motivates you to vote? To stay away from the polls? What do you hope will change as a result of the election?

We invite you to participate in our election coverage in one of two ways:

  • Share your perspective in writing by filling out this Google Form.
  • Email us a voice memo at community@thepublicsradio.org with your name, city or town, party affiliation if any, and an answer to the following question: What issues matter most to you this election season, and why?

What you share may be aired on the radio or published online. We may also reach out to you for a story, or to participate in a voters panel discussion.

If you’re feeling like elections are all about endless ads and political platitudes, this is your chance to help change the discourse. Just as your vote counts at the polls, your voice counts in the weeks leading up to the election.

We hope to hear from you!
