After a successful test run, the hospital says it's ready to begin administering vaccines Wednesday morning. The 1,950 doses were delivered to the hospital two hours earlier than anticipated and were quickly put into an ultra cold freezer.

Within a few hours, Southcoast Health administrators began the test-run and administered the vaccine to a few nurses, a couple of physicians, lab staffer, housekeeper, and respiratory therapist. The hospital will be receiving more shipments in the coming weeks. It’s expected that vaccines will be distributed to the general public beginning in April.
