David Sullivan, Rhode Island’s well-regarded state tax administrator, is leaving his post in state government for a private sector job.
Sullivan, who has been with the state for 10 years, is leaving state service next month, according to a news release from the Raimondo Administration. Sullivan has also been serving as acting director of the state Department of Revenue. Marilyn Shannon McConaghy, a veteran revenue department lawyer, to serve as interim revenue director. Neena Savage, associate director of revenue services, and assistant tax administrator, will take over as acting tax administrator.
Sullivan will begin working for Ryan LLC, a global tax services firm with clients in 40 countries. The firm has a Providence office.
