Clarke Greene, the current interim Vice President for Advancement and External Relations, will now serve as the interim college president. Greene’s interim position was approved by the state Council on Postsecondary Education.
Current Rhode Island College president Nancy Carriuolo will step down from her post at the end of this academic year. Carrioulo began her tenure as president in 2008. The announcement came following criticism from members of the RIC faculty, who accused Carriuolo of mismanagement.However, she’s received praise from state education leaders, including the chair of the Council on Postsecondary Education.
Clark Greene currently oversees the Rhode Island College Foundation and the Alumni Association. He’s worked within Rhode Island state government for more than two decades.
