UPDATE: Rhode Island churches are organizing memorial services to remember the lives lost in the Charleston, South Carolina church shooting incident that claimed the lives of nine African-Americans who were worshipping at the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church.
The first service is scheduled for 6 p.m. June 24th at Olney Street Baptist Church in Providence, according to the Rev. Donald Anderson of the R.I. State Council of Churches.
The second service is slated for June 25th at 7 p.m. at St. James Baptist Church in Woonsocket. There will also be a service at Allen African Methodist Episcopal Church in Providence at 7 p.m.
A fourth service is slated for Grace Episcopal Church in downtown Providence at 3 p.m. on June 27th.
