A Providence-based photographer has been documenting a family with a transgender grandparent. The photos are part of an exhibit destined for the Boston Children’s Museum in the fall.

For this month’s Artscape, Photographer Matthew Clowney explains his approach to photographing the family of Erica Tobias, a transgender woman with seven children and nine grandchildren to Rhode Island Public Radio host Chuck Hinman.
