State and city officials unveiled a new street sign for Rocky Point Park in Warwick. The public park is home to a number of walking trails along the Narragansett coastline, and the site of a former popular amusement park.

Warwick Mayor Scott Avedisian said the re-development of Rocky Point Park provides an important resource for the community.

“To be able to access it, to walk it, to bike it, to be able to have movie nights there all summer, to have music in the park…all sorts of ways that people can further move forward and enjoy Rocky Point…we think all of that is helpful. And the sign helps draw attention to all of those activities.”

The new Rocky Point sign features the official red-lettering and archway of the original Rocky Point Amusement Park. It will direct traffic to the 82-acre plot of land, which opened officially last October.
