Governor Gina Raimondo says how to improve the economy was the focus when she held her first Cabinet meeting Tuesday. The get-together included both the governor’s appointees and nominees yet to be confirmed.
Governor Raimondo said she thanked members of her administration for their service, and challenged them to think creatively about how to spark Rhode Island’s lackluster economy.
“I asked every single one of them to come up with some ideas for how their department could help create jobs in Rhode Island, and I asked them to think broadly,” said Raimondo.
Raimondo’s cabinet includes a mix of holdovers and fresh faces. The governor’s nominees are expected to face confirmation by the state Senate in hearings later this month.
