An arctic blast is sweeping through southern New England.
It’s bringing gusty winds and dangerously frigid temperatures. The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous outlook, as well as a wind chill advisory. Rebecca Gould is a meteorologist with the National Weather Service. “Temperatures Thurdsay are going to start in the twenties, and then by early this evening fall into the teens, and then overnight into the single digits,” said Gould.
She said the wind chill could dip to a dangerously frigid twenty below. “If you do have to go outside, dress in layers, be sure to have gloves and a hat, cover up as much skin as possible because a very short period of time outside can result in frostbite.”
Wind gusts are predicted to reach up to 35 miles per hour Thursday night. The extreme cold is predicted to last to the weekend, with temperatures warming up to the thirties.
